Director Luis Mandoki’s 1990 film White Palace is an extremely engaging and involving erotic love story with two steamy stars who really know how to do this kind of thing – experienced 40-something working-class woman Nora Baker (Susan Sarandon) being romanced by young 20-something yuppie adman Max Baron (James Spader).

Against the odds, it is believable, touching, sexy and quite special.

Also in the cast are Jason Alexander, Kathy Bates, Eileen Brennan, Steven Hill, Corey Parker and Renée Taylor.

The screenplay by Ted Tally (The Silence of the Lambs) and Alvin Sargent is based on the novel by Glenn Savan.

The age difference between 27-year old Max Baron (James Spader) and 43-year old Nora Baker (Susan Sarandon) is 16 years,
