Moon Over Miami *** (1941, Don Ameche, Betty Grable, Robert Cummings, Carole Landis) – Classic Movie Review 11,337

‘POOR GIRL’S PARADISE! Two sisters storm the Miami Millionaire Colony’ in Moon Over Miami (1941).

Director Walter Lang’s 1941 Moon Over Miami stars Betty Grable, who clicks with the public as Kay Latimer, a Texas gold-digger in Miami with her sister Barbara (Carole Landis) looking for wealthy men to marry.

Luckily they find amiable Don Ameche (as Phil O’Neil) and Robert Cummings (as Jeffrey Bolton) or there wouldn’t be much of a film.

Moon Over Miami is a pleasant, campy 20th Century Fox Technicolor musical, with easygoing stars and hot Condos Brothers dancing.

It is a colour remake of the black and white film Three Blind Mice (1938) with added sweet Leo Robin-Ralph Rainger songs, including the impressive ‘You Started Something’.

Also in the nice cast are Charlotte Greenwood, Jack Haley, Robert Greig, Cobina Wright Jr, Lynne Roberts, Robert Conway, George Lessey, and Minor Watson.

Nick Condos and Steve Condos are the Specialty Dancers.
