The notable 1951 American Western film Warpath is directed by Byron Haskin and stars Edmond O’Brien, Dean Jagger, Forrest Tucker and Harry Carey Jr.

Director Byron Haskin’s 1951 Nat Holt Productions/ Paramount Pictures Technicolor Western film Warpath is written by Frank Gruber, and stars Edmond O’Brien, Dean Jagger, Forrest Tucker, and Harry Carey Jr.

Former Union army captain in the American Civil War John Vickers (O’Brien) enlists in the Seventh Cavalry to find the outlaws (Jagger, Tucker) who murdered his girl, and the soldiers’ conflicts are set against events leading up to Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876.

An efficient script, sturdy performances with a strong star turn by O’Brien, exciting action sequences, attractive Technicolor photography and beautiful Montana locations combine to help this big-budget Western to edge into the notable category.

Also in the cast are Wallace Ford, Polly Bergen, James Millican, Paul Fix, Louis Jean Heydt, Paul Lees, Walter Sande, Charles Dayton, Robert Bray, Douglas Spencer, and James Burke.

Warpath is directed by Byron Haskin, runs 94 minutes, is made by Nat Holt Productions, released by Paramount Pictures, is written by Frank Gruber, is shot in Technicolor by Ray Rennahan, is produced by Nat Holt, and is scored by Paul Sawtell.

It premiered in Los Angeles on August 2, 1951 and was released on November 22, 1951 in New York.
