The Lone Gun ** (1954, George Montgomery, Dorothy Malone) – Classic Movie Review 11,747

Director Ray Nazarro’s routine but capable 1954 American Western colour film The Lone Gun has good stars in George Montgomery and Dorothy Malone, as well as good support in Frank Faylen, Neville Brand, Skip Homeier, Douglas Kennedy, Douglas Fowley, Fay Roope and Robert J Wilke.

George Montgomery stars as drifter Cruze who takes a job as Texas town marshal and takes on the three corrupt Moran brothers (Neville Brand as Tray Moran, Douglas Kennedy as Gad Moran and Robert J Wilke as Hort Moran), cattle rustlers who are cheating rancher Charlotte Downing (Dorothy Malone) and her brother Cass (Skip Homeier).

It was originally known as Adios My Texas.

It runs 74 minutes, is made by World Films and released by United Artists on April 25, 1954.

The cast are George Montgomery as Cruze, Dorothy Malone as Charlotte Downing, Frank Faylen as Fairweather, Neville Brand as Tray Moran, Skip Homeier as Cass Downing, Douglas Kennedy as Gad Moran, Douglas Fowley as bartender, Fay Roope as Mayor Booth, and Robert J Wilke as Hort Moran.
