The Hot Chick ** (2002, Rob Schneider, Anna Faris, Rachel McAdams, Eric Christian Olsen, Matthew Lawrence) – Classic Movie Review 1967

Co-writer/director Tom Brady’s crude and limp 2002 body-swap fantasy comedy stars Rob Schneider as a crook called Clive Maxtone, who trades places with a hot high-school cheerleader, Jessica Spencer (Rachel McAdams). She’s a sexy and popular teenager but is a mean girl and, now that (weirdly) she’s in the body of an older man, she must find a way to get back to her own original gorgeous bod.

Schneider is a funny star and works hard to raise the silly, sometimes mucky laughs. But Schneider’s and Brady’s script doesn’t give him enough opportunities to be hilarious and this is no Deuce Bigalow.

Anna Faris, Matthew Lawrence, Eric Christian Olsen, Alexandra Holden, Michael O’Keefe and Melora Hardin also star, all of them skilfully helping out nicely in the fun department.
