Director Deran Sarafian’s 1994 American suspense thriller film The Road Killers [Roadflower] stars Christopher Lambert, Craig Sheffer, David Arquette, Josh Brolin, Michelle Forbes, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Greene, Christopher McDonald, John Pyper-Ferguson and Adrienne Shelly.
Roadflower [The Road Killers] is a violent suspense thriller in the wake of the 1986 chiller The Hitcher, with Jack Lerolland (Christopher Lambert) out on a country trip with his brother Glen (Christopher McDonald), family and friends when they encounter a bunch of joyriding crazies, led by psychopath Cliff (Craig Sheffer), at a desert truck stop.
Trouble flares up after an argument with one of the Lerolland crew and young Rich Lerolland (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is nearly run down by the joyriders. Local lawman Sheriff Hodes (Michael Greene) proves useless, so Jack goes after them himself. The gang kidnaps Jack’s family and kills his brother Glen in a car crash.
Perhaps it is just basic video fodder with a nasty tone, but it has a certain drive and is fairly compulsive, while Sheffer is convincingly creepy and Lambert is good company.
Deran Sarafian’s film director father Richard C Sarafian plays Trucker. The film is written by Deran Sarafian’s brother Tedi Sarafian.
