The Order *** (2001, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Sofia Milos, Charlton Heston) – Classic Movie Review 2126

Director Sheldon Lettich’s 2001 action thriller stars Jean-Claude Van Damme as Rudy Cafmeyer, who travels to the Holy Land, determined to track down his missing archaeologist father Oscar (Vernon Dobtcheff).

Based on a screenplay co-written by Van Damme, this is a surprisingly well-done and exciting action adventure, with some excellent fights, a decent sense of humour and a back-on-form Van Damme.

Charlton Heston plays Professor Walter Finley, and Sofia Milos, Brian Thompson and Ben Cross also star.

Sheldon Lettich and Van Damme reunited here after their Double Impact hit in 1991.
