Director William Webb’s twisty 1993 American thriller film The Hit List stars Jeff Fahey, Yancy Butler and James Coburn.

The Hit List is a multi-twisting thriller, neatly written by Reed Steiner, in which sexy widow Jordan Henning (Yancy Butler) hires US state professional hitman Charlie Pike (Jeff Fahey) to kill a dangerous business partner, the man who murdered her husband, which lands Pike (Fahey) in a web of political intrigue and personal danger.

Jeff Fahey is too mild a presence here, though he remains likeable as he tries to evade crooked cops and trained assassins. But James Coburn livens things up as attorney Peter Mayhew, the cool assassination bureau head man, who introduces Charlie Pike (Fahey) to Jordan Henning (Butler) and triggers him off at her.

There is plenty of tension and enough excitement, and there are startling visuals from cinematographer John Huneck too, on the way to a well-staged violent climax.

Also in the cast are Jeff Kober, Michael Beach, Randy Oglesby, Charles Lanyer, Chris Pedersen, Michael Harris, and Tony Amendola.
