Shark Attack 3: Megalodon (John Barrowman, Jenny McShane, Ryan Cutrona) – Classic Movie Review 11,422

Director David Worth’s 2002 Shark Attack 3: Megalodon is the second sequel to the 1999 Shark Attack, this time starring John Barrowman lifeguard Ben Carpenter, with Jenny McShane from the first Shark Attack film, though in the different role of natural history researcher Cataline ‘Cat’ Stone. With a full cargo of bad movie ingredients and laughs, it is in the so-bad-it’s-good category.

The huge prehistoric shark called megalodon (Greek for ‘big tooth’) is still alive and feeding on anything that comes its way.

Clips from the film have become popular on the internet because of its unconvincing special effects, the size-changing shark, and its crazy dialogue. A clip showing the shark attacking the yacht has got more than 60 million views on YouTube.

The cast are John Barrowman as Ben Carpenter, Jenny McShane as Cataline Stone, Ryan Cutrona as Chuck Rampart, Bashar Rahal as Luis Ruiz, George Stanchev as Esai/ Sy and Harry Anichkin as Mr Tolley.

It became famous all over again on 24 July 2021 after Barrowman attacked M Night Shyamalan’s latest film Old, saying he had asked for his money back at the cinema, and got it!

Shark Attack 3: Megalodon is written by Scott Devine and William Hooke.
