Director Fred C Brannon’s 1951 American black and white Western film Rough Riders of Durango is written by M Coates Webster, and stars Allan Lane, Walter Baldwin, Aline Towne, Steve Darrell, Ross Ford, and Denver Pyle.
Allan Lane plays Marshal ‘Rocky’ Lane, who helps Sheriff Bill Walters (Ross Ford) who is trying to save the local farmers and ranchers from from a gang organising raids and hi-jackings.
This second feature was released on 30 January 1951, by Republic Pictures. It is a good example of its kind and was useful for supporting re-releases of A-movies such as The Fighting Sullivans.
It runs just 60 minutes.
It was filmed at the Iverson Ranch, 1 Iverson Lane, Chatsworth, Los Angeles.
The cast are Allan Lane as Rocky Lane, Walter Baldwin as Cricket Adams, Aline Towne as Janis Adams, Steve Darrell as John Blake, Ross Ford as Sheriff Bill Walters, Denver Pyle as Henchman Lacey, Stuart Randall as Henchman Jed, Hal Price as Johnson, Tom London as Rancher Evans, Russ Whiteman as Jim Carter, and Dale Van Sickel as Henchman Willis, with Black Jack as Rocky’s Stallion.
Allan ‘Rocky’ Lane (22 September 1909 – 27 October 1973) starred in many cowboy B-movies in the 1940s and 1950s, and appeared in more than 125 films and TV shows from 1929 to 1966.
