Director Alex Keshishian’s 1991 theatrical feature music documentary In Bed with Madonna [Madonna: Truth or Dare] is a provocative tour backstage, shot in monochrome, as the world’s Most Famous performer in 1991 bares it all.

It’s adults only but it is hard to know if her calculated performance reveals a single word of the truth she promises in the original title Truth or Dare.

Still, as a behind-the-scenes sitcom, this is unexpectedly funny, touching and entertaining, and the colour concert footage of her controversial Blond Ambition tour in 1990 is a must for any fan.

Madonna makes dressing-room visitor Kevin Costner and her friend Warren Beatty both look very foolish in two of the film’s cruelly funny scenes.

The video version includes footage not in the original theatrical release.
