Friday the 13th Part 2 ** (1981, Betsy Palmer, Amy Steel, John Furey) – Classic Movie Review 8264

Steve Miner, the producer of part one Friday the 13th, directs the expected sequel Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981), a kind of rerun of the original slasher story, taking place five years later, in which Jason (Warrington Gillette), the son of the woman who did the first wave of killings, is the wild man in the woods. Betsy Palmer returns as Mrs Voorhees.

Friday the 13th, Part II offers lots of butchering and boredom, and also unfortunately an open ending, but it is just a tad more professional than Part I.

Also in the cast are Amy Steel, John Furey, Adrienne King, Kirsten Baker, Stu Charno, Betsy Palmer, Walt Gorney, Marta Kober, Tom McBride, Bill Randolph, Lauren Marie Taylor, Russell Todd, Cliff Cudney and Jack Marks.

Friday the 13th Part 2 is written by Ron Kurz, based on the Victor Miller characters, shot by Peter Stein, produced by Steve Miner and Dennis Murphy, and is scored by Harry Manfredini.

Friday the 13th Part III, directed by Steve Miner, followed in 1982.
