Andrés Revo stars as a gay teenager involved in a crime by his group of friends, breaking his promising relationship with a new student, in the 2024 Mexican drama film Fine Young Men [Hombres Integros].

The 2024 Mexican drama film Fine Young Men [Hombres Integros] is co-written, co-produced and directed by Alejandro Andrade, and stars Andrés Revo as a gay teenager who is involved in a crime by his group of friends.
Alf (Andrés Revo) is a privileged teenager who returns to school after a year away. But he no longer identifies with his usual friends among the athletes and the popular kids, and begins to bond with Oliver (Joaquín Emanuel), a new student different from the rest. Alf will end up facing the transition to adulthood alone, having become involved in a crime, which will break Alf and Oliver’s relationship.

Fine Young Men [Hombres Integros] is particularly chilly and disturbing, clearly as intended, very well made and done, with a convincing story and persuasive performances. it’s direct and clear but quite subtle in its way. Long story short, Alf’s offered another life but doesn’t take it and pays heavily the price. Alf’s got a pair of crappy parents and a bunch of crappy friends. Life could have been sweet with Oliver. But that’s too gay for Mexico, apparently, or certainly for Alf’s crappy friends.
It’s not a thriller in any way, as promoted or at least suggested, more a social drama, though of course that’s harder to sell, and harder to make too.
It is a co-production between Mexico, Spain and France.
