‘Years ago he shattered his life. Now he’s back to pick up the pieces.’
Director Amin Q Chaudhri’s 1988 drama film Tiger Warsaw is written by Roy London, and stars Patrick Swayze, Barbara Williams, Piper Laurie, Lee Richardson, Mary McDonnell, and Bobby DiCicco.
The tormented Chuck ‘Tiger’ Warsaw returns to his family the steel production community of Sharon, Pennsylvania, to seek forgiveness.15 years after he mistakenly shot his father (Lee Richardson), now a semi-invalid.
Patrick Swayze, in the title role, tries his hand at some serious acting, and doesn’t do badly at all, Lee Richardson is good as the father, and Barbara Williams is excellent as Karen.
Unfortunately the script is as flimsy and tired as can be, and the drama peters out well before its 92 minutes are up.
On a low budget of $2 million, it grossed only $422,667 in the US on its September 23, 1988 release.
It was shot from April 6, 1987 to June 1987 in Sharon, Pennsylvania, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Patrick Wayne Swayze (born August 18, 1952) died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 57 on September 14, 2009)
