The 1972 film The Jerusalem File is an uneasy, none too exciting blend of adventure, student unrest, terrorist thriller and political comment.

Director John Flynn’s 1972 thriller The Jerusalem File stars Bruce Davison, Nicol Williamson, Donald Pleasence, Ian Hendry and Daria Halprin.

Davison plays a student archaeologist who gets mixed up in the social and political ramifications in Jerusalem that follow the 1967 Six Day War.

The Jerusalem File is an uneasy, none too exciting blend of adventure, student unrest, terrorist thriller and political comment that reaches no satisfactory conclusion, though Troy Kennedy Martin’s screenplay works hard. But Raoul Coutard’s distinguished on-the-spot cinematography is an asset, and, with this set-up and cast, it is at least in the interesting category.

Daria Halprin and her Zabriskie Point (1970) co-star Mark Frechette fell in love and moved together to self-styled guru Mel Lyman’s experimental Fort Hill Community, a 100-member commune. She later was married to Dennis Hopper for four years (1972 – 1976) and they had a child, Ruthanna Hopper. In 1968 Halprin appeared in Revolution, a documentary by Jack O’Connell and, after appearing in The Jerusalem File in 1972, she developed an interest in creative arts therapy. In 1978, she and her mother Anna founded the Tamalpa Institute and developed the Halprin Process.
