Let It Be ***½ (1970, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr) – Classic Movie Review 4875

Director Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s award-winning 1970 British music documentary is 81 minutes of Beatles bliss, photographed by Anthony B Richmond. It won an Oscar for Best Original Song Score and a Grammy for Best Original Score Written for a Motion Picture.

It is an essential collector’s item for fans of The Beatles, who are caught on camera busy breaking up but still find time to play their last concert together on a London rooftop.

It features John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, who also provide the music and produce the film, and Yoko Ono. the songs include Let It Be, Don’t Let Me Down, The Long and Winding Road and Get Back.

Phil Spector is the music producer.

Available on DVD.
