Giuliano Gemma (billed as Montgomery Wood) stars in director Giorgio Ferroni’s superior 1966 Italian Spaghetti Western film For a Few Extra Dollars [Per pochi dollari ancora] as former Confederate raider Gary Diamond, now a guide who leads a pair of Union soldiers to obstruct Confederate Major Sanders (Jacques Sernas) before he tries to pull off a raid on the heavily defended Yankee Fort Yuma in Arizona.

Diamond teams up with the exotic saloon girl Connie Breastfull (Sophie Daumier) but later he is found to be a traitor, and tortured.

It also stars Dan Vadis, José Calvo, and Ángel del Pozo.

It is also known as Fort Yuma Gold and Die Now, Pay Later.

It is shot in Technicolor by Rafael Pacheco in Spain on various locations around Madrid.

It is made by Fida Cinematografica, Les Productions Jacques Roitfeld, and Época Films S.A, and runs 96 minutes.

The screenplay is by Augusto Finocchi, Massimiliano Capriccioli, Sandro Continenza, Remigio Del Grosso, Leonardo Martín and Gilles Morris-Dumoulin. It is inspired by Jules Verne’s 1876 novel Miguel Strogoff.

The score is by Gianni Ferrio (music and conductor) and Ennio Morricone (composer: theme music). It includes some parts of Morricone’s score for Malamondo (1964). Morricone sued the production and the dispute was settled in court in 1973.

The cheeky title is very similar to the previous year’s Clint Eastwood hit For a Few Dollars More [Per qualche dollaro in più] (1965).

It re-appeared on Blu-ray from Mill Creek Entertainment in 2019 in the US.
